The Public Justice Center respects the privacy of visitors to our website, www.publicjustice.org. This privacy policy describes how we collect information through this website and how we use it.
If you sign up for PJC communications (e-newsletter, e-alerts, etc.) via the website, we will store your name and contact information in our database in order to communicate with you about the PJC. The secure sign-up page, hosted by EveryAction, is encrypted and sent to the PJC’s EveryAction database.
The Public Justice Center’s secure donation page is hosted by EveryAction (part of Bonterra). You can verify the security of the donation page by hovering your cursor over the lock symbol next to the URL at the top of the donation page. Information that the donor provides, including name, contact information, donation amount, and other comments, is encrypted and sent to the PJC’s EveryAction database. Credit card numbers are encrypted and sent to Paragon, where online donations are processed and the credit card numbers are stored securely. Authorized PJC staff receive email notification of online donations and have login access to the EveryAction database in order to acknowledge gifts, maintain financial records, and communicate with PJC supporters.
We do not sell or share the personal information (including contact and donor information) of people in our database with other organizations for their fundraising and communications purposes. We share donor information with vendors (such as printers, mail houses, and services that screen for address changes or giving capacity) for the purpose of facilitating our own fundraising and communications; this information is not available for the vendors’ use beyond providing fundraising and communications services to the PJC. We may forward or post information from other organizations by sending emails to people in our database, but without revealing our database list to those organizations. Donors are listed in our annual report and other publicity materials. The amount of gifts may be published for campaigns that offer publicity as a donor benefit, such as the Law Firm Campaign and sponsorships for anniversary celebrations. Donors have the right to remain anonymous and to have the amount of their gifts withheld from publication. If you wish to remain anonymous or wish to have the amount of your gift withheld from publication for campaigns that offer publicity as a donor benefit, please contact us at info@publicjustice.org or (410) 625-9409 or make a note in the comments box on the PJC donation page.
