#Evicted with Matthew Desmond: The 2016 Jane Harrison Speaker Series on the Importance of Housing

The 2016 Jane Harrison Speaker Series kicks off with Dr. Matthew Desmond, John L. Loeb Associate Professor of the Social Sciences and co-director of the Justice and Poverty Project at Harvard University, recipient of the MacArthur Fellowship, and author of Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City. He will be speaking about his research into the impact of eviction on people in some of Milwaukee’s poorest neighborhoods. A panel will bring the discussion home to Baltimore, where nearly 7,000 families are evicted each year.
