They’re “Just Kids”: Keeping our youth out of adult jail
Justice for Breakfast discussion series
November 14, 2012 – 8:15 am
Failing to keep our communities and kids safe. That was the finding of a 2010 report from the Just Kids Partnership investigating policies that send youth automatically into the adult criminal justice system for certain crimes. Out of that report has risen the Just Kids campaign to end these policies in Maryland and move kids out of the adult system. Continuing in the 2013 legislative session, we seek to change how Maryland addresses youth crime, in part through a return to an effective juvenile justice system that holds youth accountable and provides needed treatment. Join us to discuss youth in the adult system, changes since the report’s release and plans going forward.
