JustArts: When PJC collaborates with artists exploring themes of justice

The Public Justice Center periodically collaborates with artists to explore themes of justice through our #JustArts initiative. This month, we’re partnering with artists Vincent E. Thomas and Joe Reinsel in What’s Going On. Taking inspiration from 1971’s inimitable What’s Going On, Marvin Gaye’s insights into life, love and social justice are given fresh perspectives with new choreography by Vincent E. Thomas, Ralph Glenmore and Sylvia Soumah in sold out performances on March 4-5. What’s Going On seeks to provoke reflection and spark conversations to ignite change in each community it touches.

In this free workshop on March 13, community participants come together to examine a ‘hot topic’ that encourages verbal dialogue and explores physical dialogue. Participants discuss, move, listen, and speak truths about the selected topic(s) facing their community.
