Pursuing racial equity in education
Justice for Breakfast discussion series
April 20, 2017 - 8:15 am
Stark racial disparities in educational opportunities too often hold students of color back from reaching their highest potential. Renuka Rege, a recent graduate from Harvard Law School, was granted a fellowship to work with the Public Justice Center Education Stability Project on this complex issue. Over the past several months, Ms. Rege has talked with key stakeholders in Maryland’s education system and conducted research in order to develop a plan for how our Education Stability Project can refine and expand our work to incorporate a clearer focus on racial inequities in education. Join us to hear about Ms. Rege’s findings and to discuss our strategy for advocacy as we embark on an effort to promote systemic racial equity in education.
